Job Title: Volunteer Summer STEM Program Coordinator

Location: Remote

STEM Canada is a registered not-for-profit global program that specializes in an advanced, bar-none STEM-based educational curriculum that emphasizes the interconnected subject areas of science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM). The STEM program is open to all students from preschool to high school with the mission to deliver top-notch STEM literacy and application, designed to teach students in the STEM fields, yielding globally competitive results.

OVERVIEW:

Do you have a strong interest in STEM education and want to have an influence? To supervise and coordinate STEM summer programs, communicate with students and educators, and guarantee the success of an engaging and stimulating summer learning experience, we are looking for a committed Summer STEM Program Coordinator. This volunteer position provides a fantastic chance to hone leadership abilities, expand program management expertise, and support the advancement of young students in STEM subjects.

DUTIES:

  • Create, plan, and carry out STEM summer programs that include interactive learning exercises, workshops, and camps.
  • To provide an interesting curriculum, organize with teachers, volunteers, and outside speakers.
  • Create and stick to timetables to make sure the program runs smoothly and systematically.
  • Organize the program's logistics, such as student registration, venue setup, and material preparation.
  • Encourage student engagement by creating a welcoming and inclusive learning environment.
  • Track the success of the program and gather input for ongoing development.
  • Serve as the main liaison between program personnel, parents, and students.
  • Interact with partners and local communities, further the goals of STEM Canada.
  • Verify adherence to program rules and safety procedures.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Experience in program coordination, STEM disciplines, or education.
  • Experience working with children, especially during a summer program or camp.
  • Strong problem-solving, leadership, and organizing abilities.
  • Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills.
  • The capacity to operate in a team-oriented, fast-paced setting.
  • Enthusiasm for youth involvement in STEM education.
  • Prior experience in a similar position.
