The Blue Ridge Parkway is recruiting volunteers to help get the Peaks of Otter Campground ready to open for our summer season. This volunteer workday will take place during National Volunteer Week on Saturday April 26, 2025 from 9AM to 1PM.
Enjoy the great outdoors and fresh mountain air as you give back to your community. Bring your gloves, a rake and/or shovel, bucket, water, a snack, yourself and a friend. Wear long pants and closed toe shoes or boots. The work will primarily consist of picking up downed limbs, branches and sticks, raking leaves, cleaning firepits, and cleaning bear proof metal camper storage boxes.
The Peaks of Otter Campground is located just off the Parkway near Milepost 85, on Route 43 headed down the mountain towards Bedford, VA.
