Open Cupboard needs volunteers in our Clinton and Washington locations. Volunteers fill client orders, sort donations and have a great time with the other volunteers on their shift! We are looking for volunteers who can commit to a weekly three hour shift. This is your opportunity to make a difference in your community! Open Cupboard Food Pantry’s (OCFO) primary objective is to provide consistent and reliable access to nutritious food, ensuring that no individual or family goes hungry. We are also dedicated to promoting long-term food security through education and community engagement.
Description
Open Cupboard Food Pantry’s overarching goal is to alleviate hunger and food security in our local community. We achieve this through a comprehensive food assistance program that offers a diverse array of food items, including staples, fresh produce, pet food, baby formula, and personal hygiene products. In addition to addressing immediate food needs, we offer nutrition education and workshops. These programs are designed to empower our clients with the knowledge and skills necessary to make healthier food choices, thereby improving overall community health outcomes. Furthermore, we actively engage the community through volunteerism and partnerships with local farms and businesses, which not only enhance our food distribution capabilities but also support sustainable and climate-resilient food production practices.
