HR Board Member

Las Trampas supports adults with developmental disabilities in Lafayette, CA and we are searching for dedicated Board candidates with Human Resources expertise.

The Las Trampas Board is looking for an individual to serve as a guide to our Executive Director (ED) with regard to HR issues as it relates to the following:

• Competency with CA wage and hour law sand compliance.
• Counsel LTI on personnel-related hearings and investigation as they arise.
• Ability to facilitate/counsel employee mediations, negotiations and possible investigations as they pertain to CA labor law.
• Helping the Executive Director and Director of Human Resources handle employee questions as they arise.
• Interpreting employee contracts.
• Maintaining optimal staffing levels by tracking vacancies and initiating recruitment & interview processes to identify qualified candidates.
• Proficiency with employee relations and conflict resolution.
• Analyzing and modifying compensation and benefits policies.
• Establish competitive programs and ensure compliance with legal requirements.
• Advise Executive Director and Director of Human Resources on organizational policy matters .such as equal employment opportunity and sexual harassment.
• Advise on compensation, employee benefits and performance management systems, and safety and recreation programs.

It would be a huge advantage to have a proactive and preventive compliance approach implemented before workplace issues arise. Knowledge of laws, legal codes, court procedures, precedents, government regulations, executive orders, agency rules, and the democratic political process is very important.
