Help first-generation college-bound senior students craft compelling college application essays that showcase their unique stories and potential. This long-term commitment allows you to build meaningful relationships with students while providing crucial guidance during the college application process.

As a Writing Partner, you'll work one-on-one with students for 10 weeks, providing guidance and feedback that will give them a head start on their college applications. This is an excellent opportunity for writing professionals and community members to make a direct impact on students' college journeys.

Time commitment: 1 hour a week from August till may (not including holidays and breaks)

Mission Graduates is a nonprofit organization that increases the number of K-12 students in San Francisco's Mission District who are prepared for and complete a college education.

Description

Founded in 1972, Mission Graduates provides a wide range of afterschool, in-school, and summer programs helping to establish college education as an expectation and goal for every child. Each year, Mission Graduates reaches over 3,600 low-income children, youth, and families in San Francisco, emphasizing college as a means to achieve economic equity and strengthen the fabric of our community.
