Pet Therapy Volunteers for Hospice Patient Visits

Save to Favorites

ORGANIZATION: Avalon Hospice and Palliative Care

Experience the profound comfort and healing that only a pet’s unconditional love can bring. Many hospice patients struggle with isolation, anxiety, confusion, and loneliness-yet the presence of a therapy animal can provide incredible peace and joy.

Avalon Hospice is seeking compassionate pet therapy teams-certified therapy dogs and their dedicated owners-to bring comfort and companionship to our patients. To participate, pets must be certified through a recognized pet therapy organization, have liability insurance, and be up to date on vaccinations.

As a hospice volunteer, you and your therapy animal will visit patients in their homes, independent living communities, residential care facilities, and nursing homes. We strive to match volunteers with patients in locations as close to their homes as possible.

Join our team and make a meaningful difference in the lives of those in their final stages of life.

For more information or to apply, please contact Michelle Johnson at Avalon Hospice.
