Location: Dayton Humane & Co. - Crosspoint Shopping Center
Department: Retail / Community Engagement
Reports to: Store Manager / Volunteer Coordinator
Schedule: Flexible shifts available during store hours (Tues-Sun)
Commitment: Minimum of 4 hours/month preferred

By offering a curated selection of secondhand and vintage treasures-including clothing, home goods, accessories, and furniture-we promote sustainable living while raising essential funds to help animals in need across our community.

Volunteer Role Overview

As a Resale Boutique Volunteer, you’ll play a vital role in creating an inviting, organized, and positive shopping experience. Whether you're assisting with donations, staging beautiful displays, sorting merchandise, or welcoming customers, your time helps fuel our mission to save more lives.

Volunteer Responsibilities

Depending on your interests and strengths, volunteer tasks may include:

  • Greeting customers and providing warm, helpful assistance
  • Sorting and inspecting donated items for quality
  • Organizing merchandise by category, size, and color
  • Pricing, tagging, and preparing items for the sales floor
  • Creating or refreshing store displays and product staging
  • Assisting with restocking and tidying the sales floor
  • Supporting donation drop-offs and providing donor thank-yous
  • Helping during special events or sale days

Ideal Volunteer Qualities

We’re looking for volunteers who are:

  • Friendly, dependable, and community-minded
  • Passionate about animals, thrifting, sustainability-or all three!
  • Comfortable standing, walking, or light lifting during shifts
  • Detail-oriented and excited by boutique-style merchandising
  • Respectful of diversity and committed to our inclusive environment
  • Willing to learn and follow store guidelines and safety protocols
