As Treasurer, you'll guide our fiscal health and help us plan for growth. You'll work with our board and staff to ensure we use money wisely, develop fundraising plans, and track our impact as we grow. You'll play a key role in helping us transition from startup phase to a sustainable organization with diverse funding sources.
Key Responsibilities
- Financial Oversight
- Review monthly financial reports and present at quarterly board meetings
- Monitor budget performance
- Ensure financial records are accurate and compliance requirements are met
- Assist with third party due diligence processes for vendors that may provide accounting, investment, and/or financial auditing related services
- Create and execute a risk management plan to protect the assets and reputation of the organization
Growth & Fundraising
- Support the grant applications and reporting process
- Advise on budgetary and funding options for new projects and initiatives
- Contribute to short and long-term financial sustainability planning
- Participate in fundraising and networking events, if needed
3. Policies & Compliance
- Help develop and implement financial policies and ensure compliance with requirements and best practices for nonprofits
- Assist with annual financial reporting and documentation
- Establish and participate in an auditing program that fits the needs of the organization and complies with applicable funding requirements
Time Commitment
- Quarterly board meetings (2 hours each, held virtually)
- Monthly financial review (1-2 hours, asynchronous)
- Budget planning (4-6 hours annually, with flexible scheduling)
- Strategic planning sessions (as needed, scheduled with advanced notice)
- One-year term, renewable up to three years
- Serve as an ambassador for HealthEd For Everyone in professional networks
- Provide expertise and guidance in your area of specialization
- No minimum financial contribution required
Total estimated time commitment: 5-7 hours per month with most tasks able to be completed on your own schedule
