As part of this volunteer activity, you will be weeding and helping mulch a garden back to life. Additionally, you will be helping plant new natives to encourage garden biodiversity. This activity is definitely a bit demanding, as you will be shoveling and moving a lot, but it's a nice break from screens outdoors.

Our mission is to reduce carbon emissions in the atmosphere by planting research-backed gardens in towns throughout Monmouth County.
Description
Carbon Roots works with towns in Monmouth County to develop carbon sink gardens. Carbon sink gardens are designed to absorb the most carbon possible. These gardens are excellent for our environment, as they absorb excess carbon, which is a large contributor to global warming. Carbon Roots also ensures that town residents can create their own carbon sink gardens with their guidebook and blog.
