We focus on keeping these pianos in great condition for community enjoyment, offering maintenance, repairs, and ensuring they stay tuned and ready for play. Our mission is to foster creativity, community, and cultural expression through the power of music.
We are seeking a skilled Piano Tuner to join our team of volunteers who will help ensure the pianos in public spaces remain in optimal condition. As a Piano Tuner, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the sound quality and performance of these public instruments, helping to keep them available for use by the community. Whether it’s for routine tuning or minor repairs, your work will have a direct impact on the enjoyment of music for people of all ages and backgrounds.
Key Responsibilities:Tune and maintain public pianos at designated locations (parks, libraries, community centers, etc.).
Conduct regular maintenance to ensure the pianos are in good condition, adjusting for changes in weather and usage.
Evaluate the pianos’ conditions, identifying when more extensive repairs or care are needed and notifying the team.
Collaborate with other volunteers and community members to ensure smooth operations and best practices in piano care.
Provide updates on the condition and maintenance schedule of pianos to the Save Our Piano team.
Experience in piano tuning and basic piano maintenance is preferred.
Strong attention to detail and a passion for keeping pianos in excellent condition.
Ability to work independently and efficiently.
Good communication skills to interact with team members and community stakeholders.
Access to tools necessary for piano tuning (if not provided by the organization).
