Are you looking to volunteer in a small and casual office environment with friendly staff? A temporary volunteer is urgently needed to assist Meals on Wheels staff in Melrose Park with the day-to day operations of its office and cafe. This volunteer will be a vital part of the team handling data entry, filing, creating flyers, decorating both promotional materials and the space, mailing letters, answering the phones and ordering food. The volunteer will also pack meals for delivery to our homebound seniors and/or serve lunch, as well as run Bingo for the cafe seniors.
The volunteer will be available Monday through Friday between 8:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. This opportunity may be available for the next few months or more.
Some office experience is preferred; good phone presence and ability to work with seniors and other volunteers is a plus. Valid drivers license is desired as the volunteer may be asked to deliver meals on occasion.

Our vision is to live in an environment where seniors and persons with disabilities are valued and are an active part of our community. We currently serve nearly 600,000 meals a year to over 7,500 seniors and persons with disabilities in Suburban Cook, Kendall & Grundy Counties.

Join us for lunch!
Fight against hunger by giving back to the older adults in your community! The Community Nutrition Network needs your help serving meals at our café sites as well as delivering meals to homebound adults. These opportunities can last anywhere from 1-3 hours and are located at various sites throughout the northern Illinois area.
At The Community Nutrition Network, we strive to keep older adults and persons with disabilities an active part of their community by providing them with the support they need. Much more than a meal, our programs combat depression and isolation, offers companionship, and provides safety checks for homebound adults.
