Overview: Volunteer houseparents are the first to greet families on program nights. Houseparents work in teams of 3 to 5 individuals helping with the check-in table, serving pizza to families, and assisting with setting up and tidying up our facility. This position includes an easy training process.
Basics:
Help set up and serve pizza and dessert to children and their families, then assist with facility clean up
Minimum of one (1) evening a month for two (2) hours (Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursda y)
Training: come in and observe for a couple of nights. It’s really that easy!
Qualifications:
Must be at least 16 years old with a desire to support children (can be age 12+ when accompanied by an adult)
Be able to work as a team member
Willing to interact with families and other volunteers
Agree to criminal background check prior to assuming duties
Be trustworthy working in a confidential environment
Time Commitment:
Two (2) hours on designated evening peer-support group nights

We create a safe, welcoming space where kids can share their feelings, connect with others, and find hope through peer support programs. Volunteers play a vital role in making Erin’s House a fun and uplifting place to heal. Whether its through games and crafts or conversation and journaling, we're known for fun volunteer positions. In addition to our on-site programs, we bring grief support into schools, summer camps, and community organizations throughout Northeast Indiana-ensuring no child grieves alone.
