Are you a nature enthusiast who loves digging in the dirt and nurturing plants? Join us as a Gardener at Myrlie’s Garden and help cultivate this beautiful space while making a meaningful contribution to our park!


What You'll Do: As a volunteer gardener, you’ll take on a variety of rewarding tasks that will enhance the beauty of Myrlie’s Garden and support our mission of preserving this historical site. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Weeding & Pruning: Remove dead plants and weeds, ensuring the garden remains healthy and vibrant.
  • Plant Care : Water plants, trim existing flora, and plant new native species to promote biodiversity.
  • Landscaping: Help improve the soil and drainage to create a thriving environment for our plants.
  • Enhancing the Experience: Improve signage within the garden and keep a lookout for any facilities issues to report to your supervisor.

This role typically involves seated, standing, or walking tasks, with occasional lifting up to 50 lbs. Be prepared for varying temperatures and weather conditions as you work outside. You’ll primarily use basic gardening tools. There will be no operation of any vehicles or power tools.


Length of Commitment:This position is year-round, with duties adapting to the changing seasons and weather.
