National Volunteer Week - Trail Mend and Defend Day

Save to Favorites

ORGANIZATION: National Park Service

Join us on Saturday, April 26, for our Trail Mend and Defend Day, a special National Volunteer Week event in the heart of the park! Volunteers will work with our trails team to clear debris, reinforce pathways, and make light repairs to keep our trails safe and sustainable.

The project will begin at 8 am and end at approximately 12 pm. Volunteers must provide their own transportation to and from the worksite. Training and supervision will be provided, and the work involves hiking, light lifting, and repeated bending. Tasks may include restoration of social trailing, clearing debris, reinforcing trails with native materials, and making light repairs to help maintain safe and accessible paths for visitors.

Participation is limited. Volunteers must register for the project beforehand and will receive a confirmation email with location details.

Celebrate National Volunteer Week by giving back to the trails you love--help us mend and defend our park’s pathways for future adventurers! 量
