At Fostering Heroes we go directly into the group homes and interact with the foster youth. This is a biweekly visit that takes place for about an hour a visit. We work with you to obtain your fingerprint clearance card and a background check before you are able to go into a group home. Afterwards you will be paired with an experienced volunteer and visit one of the group homes closest to you. We work with 11 different group homes from North Phoenix to East Mesa! The kiddos look forward to our visits as they know that they are getting to do something fun but they also know that we are there to help them succeed in life and work with them on the tools needed to enter adulthood. Beyond going into the group homes we also host quarterly sports events and a summer camp!

Mission Statement
At Fostering Heroes Foundation our mission is to impact foster youth in group homes every day. The focus is to deliver the mentorship, life skills and experiences that provide the opportunity for foster youth aging out of the system with skills, beliefs, encouragement and love necessary to succeed. This success may be learning a trade, finding a new direction in life or going to school to further their education. Our definition of success is helping these youth break the cycle of generational poverty that many times leads to criminal activity, entering the sex trade, drug abuse, and homelessness. This isn’t about us. This is about creating futures for the foster youth we serve!
Description
Fostering Heroes was founded with the purpose of helping foster youth as they age out of the system. Too many of these youth end up homeless, incarcerated, or worse. It is our goal to help them obtain the skills needed to end that cycle and to become the heroes of their own lives. To do this, ourselves and our volunteers go directly to the group homes and interact with the youth before they have aged out. We do fun activities, create trusting bonds, help them learn how to fill out applications, practice interviewing, help them decide on secondary education, and more!
