Richmond Promise Scholars need a mentor - someone like YOU.
In listening to our Scholars’ feedback, we have found that career readiness and support are among their top priorities. In response, we have launched RP Leads, a career accelerator program designed to bridge the critical gaps students face when transitioning from college to the workforce.
As an RP Leads mentor, you’ll play a vital role in this hybrid model, year-round program. You will meet virtually with RP staff each month to discuss key career preparation topics and will connect with your Scholar for the remainder of the month to provide guidance and support. Mentors and mentees will meet in person at their discretion.
What you'll be doing as a mentor:
- Meet virtually with RP staff for one hour each month
- Assist your Scholar in crafting or updating career-related materials like their resume, cover letter, or LinkedIn profile
- Support your Scholar in exploring potential internship opportunities
- Provide academic and personal guidance throughout the year
- Mentors will also have the opportunity to support their mentee through the duration of the RP Leads program (est. three years) if interested
With as little as three hours a month, your mentorship can make a lasting, positive impact on a Scholar’s future. Are you ready to make a difference in their life and give back to your community?
All mentors will be required to complete a background check and training.
