Position Overview
The Social Media & Digital Advocacy Fellow will work to enhance PEP’s online presence by creating engaging content, growing our digital audience, and using social media for advocacy. The fellow will develop strategic campaigns, social media posts, infographics, and digital toolkits to raise awareness about military spending, peace-building efforts, and economic justice.
This position is ideal for students or recent graduates with a passion for social media, digital storytelling, activism, and advocacy.
Key Responsibilities:
✅ Manage and create content for PEP’s social media platforms (Instagram, Twitter/X, Facebook, LinkedIn, TikTok).
✅ Develop digital campaigns that educate and mobilize audiences around demilitarization and peace advocacy.
✅ Design infographics, short videos, and visual storytelling materials to engage diverse audiences.
✅ Monitor and analyze social media engagement metrics to refine content strategies.
✅ Create social media toolkits and shareable content for online advocacy efforts.
✅ Write blog posts and social media captions that translate complex policy issues into accessible content.
✅ Assist in live event coverage and digital engagement strategies for PEP’s campaigns, webinars, and public actions.
✅ Collaborate with the PEP team to expand outreach and engage digital audiences in action-based advocacy.
Preferred Qualifications:
✔ Background in communications, marketing, journalism, digital media, or public policy.
✔ Experience managing social media platforms for advocacy, activism, or community organizations.
✔ Strong graphic design and content creation skills (Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, etc.).
✔ Passion for peace advocacy, social justice, and anti-militarization efforts.
✔ Ability to write clear, compelling, and engaging social media content.
✔ Experience with social media analytics, audience engagement strategies, and digital organizing is a plus.
✔ Self-motivated and able to work independently and collaboratively.
