Position Overview

The Education & Outreach Fellow will assist in developing educational materials, organizing workshops, and expanding PEP’s community engagement efforts. This fellow will play a key role in bridging the gap between research and public awareness by creating accessible, engaging content that helps people understand the impact of military spending and alternative investments in social programs.

This opportunity is ideal for students or recent graduates with experience or interest in education, community organizing, public policy, or social justice advocacy.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop educational materials, including fact sheets, presentations, and workshop toolkits on military spending and economic justice.

Assist in organizing and facilitating workshops, teach-ins, and community events to educate the public on peace economy principles.

Work with educators and activists to integrate peace and economic justice topics into school and community programs.

Conduct outreach to schools, universities, and community organizations to promote PEP’s educational initiatives.

Support the creation of online learning resources, such as webinars, infographics, and digital toolkits.

Help coordinate speaker events and public discussions with experts in peace and economic justice.

Engage with grassroots organizers and local leaders to expand PEP’s outreach network.

Write blog posts, newsletters, and social media content to spread awareness about PEP’s work and educational efforts.

Preferred Qualifications:

Background in education, public policy, social justice, communications, or a related field.

✔ Experience in teaching, curriculum development, public speaking, or community outreach is a plus.

✔ Passion for peace advocacy, demilitarization, and social justice.

✔ Strong writing and communication skills, with the ability to translate complex topics into accessible language.

✔ Ability to work independently and collaboratively in an advocacy setting.

✔ Experience with event planning, workshop facilitation, or digital education tools is a plus.
