ATX Chamber Music and Jazz needs a trusted team of volunteers who are willing to help with guest check-in; merch table sales; event set up and break down; photography; videography; ushering; and more. In exchange, the volunteers will be able to witness some of the greatest musicians of our times in classical and jazz, in person, live in Austin. Many of our events are held at the Tex Fed Mansion, downtown. Additionally, we have events at the Paramount, Assembly Hall, Riverbend Centre for the Arts, and KMFA's radio studio.

Mission Statement

Deriving influences from Austin’s vibrant character, ATX Chamber Music and Jazz presents innovative, engaging, and immersive chamber music and jazz performances featuring the highest level of musical artistry while synergistically cultivating social connections among diverse groups of people. Our mission is to reinvigorate public interest in classical music and jazz while offering a meaningful way for community members to spend time with friends and loved ones and expand their networks. Aside from crafting extraordinary concert experiences, the organization is committed to making music accessible to all. ATX Music donates 10% of its seating capacity to children and their chaperones, and also regularly presents its world-renowned artists in schools, youth, and retirement centers, free of charge, to ensure our entire community can experience great music.

Description

ATX Chamber Music and Jazz was born from a simple idea: music can heal, connect, and transform lives. During the isolation of the COVID-19 pandemic, our founders saw how intimate live music could spark joy, foster connection, and revive community. What began as small concerts in a friend’s home has grown into a cultural movement in Austin, blending world-class artistry with social engagement.

We believe everyone deserves access to music’s transformative power. We present Grammy-winning ensembles and celebrated soloists in venues from theaters to unconventional spaces. Our events are crafted to showcase exceptional performances and create atmospheres where conversations flow, friendships form, and memories are made.

The Everyone Deserves Art program reflects our commitment to accessibility. By providing free tickets, transportation, and meals, we remove barriers for students and chaperones, ensuring that economic hardship or social isolation doesn’t prevent anyone from experiencing the magic of live music. This season alone, over 180 students attended our public concerts for free, and more than 1,500 children enjoyed free in-school concerts.
