Mentor A Promise is a non-profit organization, and our mission is to provide socio-emotional learning, academic support, and mentorship to students in temporary housing and facing housing instability. We partner with family temporary housing sites across New York, educational institutions, and community organizations to create a strong support network for young people experiencing homelessness, helping them overcome challenges and forge their own path to success. Position Overview:

As a Science Specialist, you will play a key role in implementing lesson plans in a variety of our community-based programming including in our after-school sites and virtual program.

Key Responsibilities:

· Understand and promote the organization’s Mission, Vision, and Core Values to ensure alignment with organizational policies and procedures.

· Promote high-quality and developmentally appropriate teaching and learning in the in-person and online programs

· Oversee the integration of technology into the curriculum to enhance learning experiences and support 21st-century skills development.

· Foster a culture of continuous improvement by encouraging feedback from staff, mentors and stakeholders.

Position Requirements:

· Must be 18 years of age or older

· Must have a passion for our work

· Must be a team player

Desired Qualifications:

· Excellent interpersonal skills and a passion for making a difference

· Strong organizational and communication skills

· Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
