Recruiting Organization: Luminis Health Gilchrist Lifecare Institute
Our volunteers help in numerous ways such as:
- Providing companionship to the patients
- Assisting with administrative duties
- Helping at special events
- Leading grief support groups
- Making follow-up phone calls to our bereaved
- Providing grief companionship
- Visiting with their pet
- Sewing memory bears and pillows
- Honoring veterans with a special ceremony
All volunteers receive specialized training, and some choose to receive more concentrated training in bereavement, pediatric, end-of-life doula services or spiritual care.
