STEM Canada is a registered not-for-profit global program that specializes in an advanced, bar-none STEM-based educational curriculum that emphasizes the interconnected subject areas of science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM). The STEM program is open to all students from preschool to high school with the mission to deliver top-notch STEM literacy and application, designed to teach students in the STEM fields, yielding globally competitive results.

Location: Remote

Time commitment: 6 hours a week

Description: We are looking for a skilled and imaginative Multimedia Specialist to become a virtual volunteer with our team. In this position, your responsibilities will involve producing and overseeing various forms of multimedia content such as images, videos, and audio to improve our organization's communication and outreach endeavors. While working from a distance, you will partner with colleagues to create top-notch content that upholds our goals and captivates our viewers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Create and generate multimedia materials such as images, videos, animations, and audio to aid in the organization’s communication and marketing efforts.
  • Revise and improve multimedia content to ensure it meets the organization's brand and quality guidelines.
  • Work together with team members to comprehend content requirements and goals, offering innovative ideas to efficiently communicate messages.
  • Supervise multimedia projects from start to finish, covering planning, production, and post-production phases.
  • Keep up to date on the most recent multimedia trends and tools in order to consistently enhance the quality and impact of your content.
  • Help with arranging and upkeep of a multimedia asset library for simple access and later usage.
  • Take part in online meetings to share progress on multimedia projects and receive input.
  • Offer assistance and problem-solving for multimedia-related problems.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Multimedia specialist or similar role, with a strong portfolio of successful multimedia campaigns.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English. Proficiency in additional languages is a plus.
  • Demonstrated ability to create engaging multimedia content across various platforms.
  • Creative mindset with the ability to think outside the box.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
  • Passion for STEM education and commitment to promoting STEM literacy and application.
  • Cultural sensitivity and ability to engage with a diverse global audience.
