Welicar Educational Centre, a non-profit organisation dedicated to empowering youth through education, is seeking passionate individuals to join our mission. As a volunteer, you'll have the opportunity to make a tangible impact on the lives of children in the Dandora slums of Nairobi, Kenya.

What You Can Do

• Teaching and Mentoring: Conduct workshops, tutor students, and share your knowledge and skills.
• Community Outreach: Engage with local communities, raise awareness, and build strong relationships.
• Infrastructure Development: Participate in construction and maintenance projects to improve our facilities.
• Administrative Support: Assist with administrative tasks such as fundraising, grant writing, and report preparation.
• Digital Literacy: Teach digital skills and support the development of our online presence.

PS: All fields are welcome but priority will be given to volunteers who wish to focus on the 'Child sponsorship’ program ( https://www.welicareducationalcentre.org/child-sponsorship/) in terms of funding opportunities, networking, collaborations...etc.

*Important Considerations**

• This opportunity is open to all individuals with no nationality or age restriction.
• All positions will be considered starting January 2025 , but an early application is encouraged
• This is a volunteer position, and no financial compensation will be provided (e.g., travel expenses, living expenses, transportation ...etc.), individuals with existing funding are eligible to apply.
• While we cannot provide on-site accommodation due to the limited space in the centre, we will assist in finding suitable housing options.
• We welcome volunteers for a minimum of one week, but longer commitments are encouraged (up to a month or more).
• Joint applications (of couples and groups) will be considered.
• Volunteers on the teaching program can assist with the teaching of different subjects ( Mathematics, Science, Geography, Social Studies, History, Business Education, English, Arts and Music ) as per the curriculum and are not required to have teaching experience.
