Who We Are

Night Owl Reconnaissance (NOR) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization specializing in OSINT-driven missing persons investigations. Our mission is to detect and prevent disappearances, support active investigations, and provide resources to those who have been recovered.

To sustain and expand our efforts, we are seeking a Development Director to lead NOR’s fundraising and grant-writing initiatives. This role will be responsible for identifying funding opportunities, managing donor relationships, and overseeing a team of grant-writing volunteers.

About the Role

The Development Director will play a critical role in ensuring NOR has the financial support to continue its mission. This individual will research and secure funding sources, build relationships with potential donors and grant providers, and guide a team of fundraising volunteers to develop compelling grant proposals and outreach strategies.

This position is ideal for those with experience in nonprofit development, grant writing, fundraising, or donor relations, as well as those interested in gaining hands-on experience in nonprofit fundraising and donor engagement while making a tangible impact in missing persons investigations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and oversee fundraising strategies to support NOR’s mission and growth
  • Identify and pursue grant opportunities, sponsorships, and individual donor contributions
  • Lead and mentor a team of grant-writing volunteers to research and apply for funding
  • Establish and maintain relationships with donors, funding agencies, and grant personnel
  • Facilitate weekly meetings with fundraising volunteers to track progress and refine strategies
  • Draft, review, and submit grant applications, ensuring alignment with funding requirements
  • Monitor and stay informed on nonprofit fundraising trends and best practices
  • Develop solicitation materials and fundraising communications for outreach efforts
  • Maintain accurate records of fundraising activities and donor engagement
