STEM Canada is a registered not-for-profit global program that specializes in an advanced, bar-none STEM-based educational curriculum that emphasizes the interconnected subject areas of science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM). The STEM program is open to all students from preschool to high school with the mission to deliver top-notch STEM literacy and application, designed to teach students in the STEM fields, yielding globally competitive results.

Location: Remote

Time commitment: 6 hours a week

Description:

We are looking for a creative and knowledgeable Educational Content Creator Volunteer to join our team. By volunteering, you will enhance your content creation skills while making a significant impact on our educational programs. This position requires working with remote team members to develop engaging and informative educational content that supports our organization's objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with a diverse team to develop and produce educational content that aligns with curriculum goals and enhances student learning experiences.
  • Create engaging lesson plans, worksheets, videos, and other instructional materials for various STEM subjects.
  • Conduct thorough research to ensure content accuracy and relevance to current STEM education standards.
  • Use multimedia tools to design and present content in an appealing and accessible manner.
  • Review and update existing educational materials to reflect new information and pedagogical best practices.
  • Collect and incorporate feedback from educators and students to continuously improve content quality.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and advancements in STEM education to ensure content remains cutting-edge.
  • Assist with the development and implementation of content distribution strategies to reach a broader audience.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in educational content creation, with a strong understanding of STEM subjects and curriculum development.
  • Excellent writing and research skills, with the ability to produce clear and engaging educational materials.
  • Proficiency in using multimedia tools and software for content creation (e.g., video editing software, graphic design tools).
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, essential for thriving in a virtual team setting.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to manage your own schedule and responsibilities autonomously.
  • Commitment to continuous learning and staying current with industry trends and best practices in STEM education.
