Support Group Facilitators / Social Work Students - Protecting Kids Online

Save to Favorites

ORGANIZATION: Idealist.org

Recruiting Organization: DEFEND

Volunteer Job Listing: Support Group Facilitators / Social Work Students.

Organization: DEFEND (Nonprofit) and 65square

Position: We think this can be a great way to stop predation from happening online. There are next to no resources in society for pedophiles to prevent them from offending and we know that harm can be prevented to children online. Typically when a MAP reports to a healthcare professional that they feel an attraction to a child, this may trigger a mandatory report to police or authorities and this may cause MAPs to hide and suppress the need to talk about this subject with anyone. We are looking to change this. We need social work students or those with healthcare in their background to run anonymous virtual support groups which are focused on prevention rather that supporting MAP with their desires or actions. This subject matter is obviously sensitive and mature, empathetic individuals need-only apply.

Location: Remote (Weekly Zoom Meetings)

About Us:

DEFEND is a volunteer-run nonprofit dedicated to reducing risks for children and vulnerable people online. We are currently building 65square, the world’s healthiest social media and dating platform, designed with game-like features and characteristics of an MMO. Our goal is to create a safer, more positive online space for users.
