Position Overview

Sacred Soil Mission is seeking a passionate and skilled Grants Specialist to support our mission by identifying and securing funding opportunities through grants. This is a volunteer role ideal for individuals committed to environmental sustainability and skilled in grant research, proposal writing, and funding acquisition. Your efforts will directly impact our ability to execute critical projects that promote environmental preservation and sustainable practices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Research and identify relevant grant opportunities from government agencies, foundations, and private organizations.
  • Develop and manage a comprehensive grants calendar to track deadlines and submission schedules.
  • Write and submit compelling grant proposals tailored to funders' priorities and guidelines.
  • Collaborate with the Sacred Soil Mission leadership team to gather necessary data, project details, and budgets for proposals.
  • Maintain detailed records of grant applications, submissions, and outcomes.
  • Establish and nurture relationships with funders and donors, keeping them informed about project progress and impact.
  • Assist in the preparation of grant reports to ensure compliance with funders’ requirements.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in grant writing and funding research (experience in environmental or sustainability-related grants is a plus).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with an ability to craft persuasive narratives.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills to handle multiple deadlines.
  • Familiarity with nonprofit funding processes and donor engagement.
  • Passion for environmental sustainability and Sacred Soil Mission’s objectives.

Time Commitment
