About Obu Lamu

About the Role

We are seeking two volunteer Creative Educators with experience in teaching children with Autism and ADHD. This is a remote volunteer position requiring at least 3 hours per day, Monday to Friday. Educators will work closely with our Creative Education Programs Manager to develop engaging, individualized lesson plans that cater to neurodiverse learners.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and facilitate creative, adaptive learning experiences for children with Autism and ADHD.
  • Use interactive and sensory-based teaching methods to enhance engagement.
  • Support students in developing communication, social, and cognitive skills.
  • Collaborate with the Programs Manager to align lesson plans with our holistic education approach.
  • Provide weekly progress reports on student learning and engagement.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Experience teaching children with Autism and/or ADHD.
  • Background in special needs education, creative arts, or psychology is a plus.
  • Strong skills in adapted teaching strategies and behavior management.
  • Ability to work independently and communicate effectively in a remote setting.
  • Passion for inclusive education and creative learning.
