STEM Canada is a registered not-for-profit global program that specializes in an advanced, bar-none STEM-based educational curriculum that emphasizes the interconnected subject areas of science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM). The STEM program is open to all students from preschool to high school with the mission to deliver top-notch STEM literacy and application, designed to teach students in the STEM fields, yielding globally competitive results.

Location: Remote

Time commitment: 6 hours a week

Description: We are looking for a meticulous and committed Compliance and Accreditation Specialist to join our team as a remote volunteer. In this position, you will play a key role in guaranteeing that our company follows applicable rules and criteria. You will collaborate remotely with our team to oversee compliance procedures, support accreditation endeavors, and uphold top-notch quality and accountability.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work together with colleagues to create and enforce compliance policies and procedures that adhere to industry standards and regulations.
  • Help with compiling and submitting accreditation applications and paperwork, making sure all information is accurate and thorough.
  • Perform routine audits and evaluations to pinpoint areas for enhancements and guarantee continued adherence to established criteria.
  • Keep track of changes in regulations and updates, informing the team about required modifications to ensure compliance.
  • Offer assistance and direction to employees and volunteers regarding issues related to compliance, promoting a culture of responsibility and openness.
  • Keep thorough documentation of compliance activities, audits, and accreditation procedures for future use in reporting.
  • Take part in online meetings to share information about compliance status and get input.
  • Create and provide training resources and sessions to teach team members about compliance rules and top strategies.
  • Help in solving problems related to following rules, cooperating with appropriate departments to carry out successful answers.

Requirements:

  • Experience in a related position is desired, along with a solid grasp of compliance and accreditation procedures.
  • Great focus on specifics and strong ability to organize.
  • Capability to assess intricate data and create practical suggestions.
  • Effective communication and teamwork abilities are vital for thriving in a virtual team setting.
  • Driven to work autonomously and proficient at managing time and tasks with little supervision.
  • Knowledge of pertinent industry regulations and standards.
