About H.Y.P.E. to Empower, Inc.
H.Y.P.E. to Empower, Inc. is a nonprofit dedicated to reducing health disparities and supporting individuals and families affected by HIV/AIDS. To sustain and grow our impact, we are launching a three-month volunteer project to secure $400,000 in funding. We are seeking Volunteer Grant & Funder Research Specialists to assist with grant research, funder outreach, and proposal support.
Position Overview
This short-term, remote opportunity requires a minimum commitment of 5-10 hours per week for three months. Volunteers will assist in identifying funding sources, researching grant opportunities, and supporting outreach efforts.
Key ResponsibilitiesGrant Research & Tracking
- Use Instrumentl software and other tools to identify grant opportunities.
- Categorize funding sources by eligibility, deadlines, and strategic fit.
- Maintain a grant tracking system to monitor funding timelines and opportunities.
Funder Prospecting & Outreach
- Work with the Business Analysis Team to research potential funders.
- Assist in drafting outreach emails, funding requests, and engagement summaries.
- Help schedule and coordinate funder meetings, including virtual and in-person opportunities.
Proposal Development & Data Collection
- Support the development of funding presentations and reports.
- Gather key data insights and program metrics for funding proposals.
- Assist in creating compelling grant application materials to strengthen our submissions.
Commitment & Expectations
- Time Commitment: Minimum 5-10 hours per week for three months.
- Remote & Flexible: Work independently with weekly team check-ins.
- Meetings: Join at least one team meeting per week to track progress.
- Collaboration: Work in small teams or individually, depending on the task.
- Goal: Help H.Y.P.E. to Empower secure $400,000 in funding by researching grants and engaging funders.
Leadership Opportunity
- Volunteers may take on lead roles in areas like grant research, outreach coordination, or proposal writing.

Qualifications & Skills
- Strong research and analytical skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication.
- Experience with grants, fundraising, public health, or nonprofit development is a plus.
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
- Familiarity with Google Suite, Excel, Instrumentl, or CRM tools is helpful but not required.
