Harvest Home Farmers Market is dedicated to promoting healthy, sustainable food access in underserved communities through farmers' markets, fresh produce, and nutrition health programs.

Position Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and dedicated Volunteer Grant Writer to support our fundraising efforts and help secure funding for our programs and initiatives. The ideal candidate will have experience in researching, writing, and submitting grant proposals to foundations and corporations. This role is essential in driving the continued growth and success of Harvest Home Farmers Market.

Key Responsibilities

  • Research potential grant opportunities from foundations and corporations focusing on food insecurity, food access, food deserts, health disparities, and related topics.
  • Write and submit compelling grant proposals for our Eating for Good Health program.
  • Develop and maintain a grant application calendar to ensure timely submissions.
  • Collaborate with Harvest Home staff to gather necessary information and data for grant proposals.
  • Track and report on the status of active grants, ensuring compliance with funder requirements.

Qualifications

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proven research skills to identify new funding opportunities.
  • Knowledge of the nonprofit sector, especially in grants related to food access, public health, or community development.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Passion for Harvest Home Farmers Market’s mission to increase access to healthy food in underserved communities.
