All Call for Exciting Opportunity to Serve on the Department of State's Diplotots Board of Directors!
Key Points:
- Diplotots is the non-profit organization entrusted with oversight of the Department of State’s premier childcare facility at SA-01.
- We are interested in growing our all-volunteer board with passionate individuals who want to make a real impact in the quality of life of our employees and families.
- This position is open to both Department employees and non-employees. We encourage diversity on the board and encourage anyone interested to apply.
- Excellent opportunity to not only serve in a gratifying and worthwhile role, but it's an excellent addition to any resume for future employment or promotion.
- Those interested should submit a brief resume outlining interest and relevant experience to Diplotots, Inc. Co-Chairs Paige Ellis ( EllisPH@state.gov) and Katie Crotty ( katherine.g.crotty@gmail.com) no later than March 28, 2025.
- New Directors will be elected by the existing Board of Directors at the April Board meeting.
About Diplotots: The Diplotots (SA-01) Childcare Center is operated by Brynmor Early Education and Preschool under contract with Diplotots, Inc., and is led by the Diplotots Board of Directors. The Center offers full-time, part-time, and drop-off childcare for ages 6 weeks through 4 years, as well as a summer program for ages 4 through 12. Diplotots includes various exciting programs and initiatives aimed at creating a true childcare center of excellence for Department and community families.
Requirements: Directors hold a three-year term and attend monthly board meetings (with occasional special meetings) that are held virtually. While not required for most Board positions, presence in the Washington, D.C. area is useful for new Directors given the Board’s direct oversight responsibilities of the childcare center. Experience or skills in the following areas will be regarded favorably: education or experience with childcare, fundraising, accounting/finance, previous non-profit experience, legal background, communications and recordkeeping/note taking. We seek to ensure diversity and representativeness in the composition of the Board. Most Board positions are open to both employees and non-employees of the Department of State. Join our team!
