Recruiting Organization: Hackensack Meridian Hospice

Interacting with a friendly animal has the power to rekindle happy memories of beloved pets and provide joy and comfort, especially to those who are at end of life. Pet therapy sessions are casual interactions of specifically trained volunteer/animal teams with a patient for comfort or recreation. Those interested must be a trained handler and have a Pet Therapy certified dog registered with a recognized Pet Therapy organization that provides insurance. Pet Therapy certification training is not provided by HMH. Please reach out to learn more about becoming a Pet therapy volunteer.

Hackensack Meridian Hospice-Central serves patients wherever they call home. Volunteers are provided a thorough orientation free of charge. Covid and flu vaccinations are required. Contact Elaine.Carlsen@hmhn.org for more information.
