Are you passionate about storytelling, podcasting, and sound design? Sattya Collective is looking for a volunteer to help coordinate our Coffee@Sattya podcast and oversee the operations of our Sound Studio. This is a unique opportunity to immerse yourself in Nepal’s creative community, collaborate with local storytellers, and make a meaningful impact on our audio initiatives.
What You'll Do
As the Podcast + Sound Studio Coordinator, you’ll play a key role in shaping Sattya’s audio storytelling platform and ensuring the smooth operation of our studio. Your responsibilities will include:
- Podcast Production:
- Plan and schedule recordings for Coffee@Sattya, working with guests and managing the studio calendar.
- Collaborate on podcast themes, prepare interview questions, and assist with post-production (editing, mixing, uploading).
- Distribute episodes across platforms and track engagement to refine content strategies.
- Studio Operations:
- Oversee the day-to-day running of the Sound Studio, ensuring equipment is functional and the space is welcoming.
- Provide technical support for users to help them produce professional-quality audio.
- Manage bookings and schedules to keep the studio running smoothly.
- Community Engagement:
- Promote the Sound Studio and podcast to Kathmandu’s creative community.
- Build relationships with podcast guests, studio users, and collaborators.
- Encourage individuals and organizations to use the studio for their audio projects.
Who You Are
We’re looking for a passionate, organized individual with an interest in audio storytelling. No need to be an expert--this role is a learning experience too! Key skills and traits:
- Interest in audio production, podcasting, or storytelling.
- Basic technical skills for operating sound equipment and software (we’ll provide training).
- Strong organizational abilities to juggle schedules and projects.
- Friendly and communicative--ready to collaborate with a wide range of people.
- A creative mindset and enthusiasm for amplifying local voices.
Why Volunteer with Sattya?
This is more than a volunteer role--it’s a chance to immerse yourself in Nepal’s vibrant creative scene and gain hands-on experience in podcasting and sound studio management. Here’s what you’ll get:
- Skill Development: Learn audio production, editing, and studio management.
- Creative Freedom: Shape the Coffee@Sattya podcast and contribute your own ideas.
- Cultural Immersion: Work with local artists, storytellers, and media professionals in Kathmandu.
- Personal Projects: Access the studio for your own creative endeavors.
- Community Connection: Be part of a passionate team committed to amplifying local stories.
