Who We Are
Night Owl Reconnaissance (NOR) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that specializes in OSINT-driven missing persons investigations. Our mission is to detect and prevent disappearances, support active investigations, and provide resources for those who have been recovered.
To further this mission, we are seeking a Content Strategist to help communicate the importance of missing persons work and demonstrate how OSINT can be used for good. This role involves gathering information from ongoing investigations and NOR’s teams to create content that raises awareness, educates the public, and highlights the real-world impact of OSINT in solving cases.
Position Overview
The Content Strategist will play a key role in ensuring that NOR’s investigative efforts are effectively communicated. This includes capturing key findings from investigative teams, structuring updates that illustrate the challenges and successes of missing persons work, and ensuring that NOR’s message reaches the right audiences.
This role involves sitting in on investigative squad discussions, collaborating with NOR volunteers, and working closely with the Director of Investigations and Social Media Manager to share relevant updates, research findings, and case-related insights.
Responsibilities
- Develop and manage content that highlights NOR’s investigative work and the broader impact of OSINT in missing persons cases.
- Attend investigative squad discussions to gather key findings and emerging insights.
- Work with NOR volunteers and investigators to organize relevant case information for outreach and awareness efforts.
- Ensure that critical case updates and investigative milestones are effectively communicated to NOR’s leadership and public audiences.
- Assist in structuring updates and content that educate the public on missing persons issues and the role of OSINT in investigations.
- Provide structured monthly content updates that align with NOR’s outreach and investigative goals.
Who Should Apply
This role is ideal for individuals who:
- Have strong research and communication skills, with the ability to translate investigative insights into clear, structured content.
- Are interested in missing persons investigations and the ethical application of OSINT.
- Have experience in content strategy, journalism, research, intelligence analysis, or nonprofit communications (preferred, but not required).
- Are self-motivated and proactive, able to work independently in a remote environment.
- Are passionate about advocating for missing persons and raising awareness about investigative efforts.
Benefits of Volunteering
- Contribute directly to missing persons investigations by helping to highlight NOR’s mission and impact.
- Gain experience in investigative content strategy, OSINT research, and nonprofit awareness campaigns.
- Work alongside dedicated OSINT professionals and investigators, learning from real-world cases.
- Enjoy flexible volunteer hours with remote engagement.
- Play a key role in shaping NOR’s content strategy and outreach efforts.
If you are passionate about using research and content to support missing persons investigations, we would love to hear from you.
