Many older adults experience loneliness and long for companionship, often just needing someone to call once a week for a friendly conversation. It's important to remember that caring for the elderly goes beyond family ties--it’s a shared responsibility.

If you have the time, please consider joining this program to brighten an older adult’s day and make a meaningful difference in their life.

RAIN Friendly Visiting Program pairs case management homebound older adults with volunteers for in-home visits. Volunteers can also connect with the older adults through telephone calls and virtual encounters.

Volunteers visit on a weekly basis to talk about shared interests and experiences.

All volunteers will be screened and trained.

Social isolation is the state of having little to no contact between an individual and society.

Social isolation is detrimental to wellbeing and may lead to health problems, including depression and heart disease.
