About the Meet the Motivators Symposium
The Meet the Motivators Symposium in Brampton is a two-day event that serves as MTM’s flagship initiative for economic empowerment and community building. On the first day, participants attend over 10 interactive workshops focused on building financial literacy, leadership skills, and entrepreneurial capabilities. This event provides opportunities for participants to connect with industry professionals through networking sessions.
Notable speakers such as Patricia Lovett-Reid, a Certified Financial Planner and financial commentator, have contributed to the symposium, providing valuable insights into personal finance and wealth management. Other inspirational figures, including Dr. Jean Augustine and Margaret Trudeau, have also shared their expertise, making the symposium a transformative experience for many attendees.
Role Description
This is a volunteer role for the Meet The Motivators' 10th Anniversary Symposium held on May 17 & 18, 2025 in Toronto, ON. We are seeking enthusiastic volunteers for in-person and remote positions. As a volunteer, you will assist in planning and executing the two-day Symposium. The volunteer will work alongside the executive team to deliver a fantastic experience for attendees.
We are seeking volunteers for the following departments:
- Marketing Team: includes creating social media content to promote the event and expand brand awareness
- Project Management Team: assisting in all areas related to producing the symposium - includes developing the program itinerary, researching and selecting keynote speakers and workshop topics, creating systems for ticket sales and sponsorship programs etc.
- Media Team: includes creating media content (ex. interviews with speakers) to promote the event and expand brand awareness
- Sponsorship & Collaborations Team: includes outreach to organizations who have values that align with MTM to form partnerships and seek financial or in-kind support
- Food & Beverage Team: includes development and outsourcing of the event menu; set up and distribution on event day
- Vendors Team: includes reviewing vendor applications and selecting the best vendors for the event; designing the vendors' layout and set up on event day etc.
Required Skills, Experiences, and Attributes:
- Passion for empowering women and promoting diversity and inclusion
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficient in oral English
- Ability to work effectively in a team and contribute to a positive and inclusive environment
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Attention to detail and ability to follow instructions
- Previous experience in a similar role or volunteering experience is an asset
Time Commitment:
The time commitment is variable and will depend on the volunteer's schedule and assigned role. We are willing to be flexible and work with the volunteer based on their availability.
Orientation/Training:
The volunteer will receive mandatory training via Zoom from the Senior Team
