Volunteering with Orphans in Peru,m any children in Peru find themselves in orphanages due to heartbreaking circumstances, such as domestic violence, poverty, and the loss of parents. While these institutions provide essential necessities like food, shelter, and education, children also yearn for love, attention, and quality time from caring individuals.
Benefits of Volunteering at Orphanages
Volunteering at an orphanage offers a unique and rewarding opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of children in need. Here are some of the key benefits you'll experience:
- Make a Difference: Your time, energy, and skills will directly benefit orphaned children who may lack love, attention, and positive role models.
- Provide Emotional Support: Offer companionship, friendship, and a sense of belonging to children who may have experienced difficult circumstances.
- Share Your Skills and Knowledge: Teach children new things through games, activities, or workshops based on your interests and talents (arts, crafts, sports, music, etc.).
- Gain Personal Growth: Develop your patience, compassion, and communication skills while fostering a sense of purpose and fulfillment.
- Cultural Exchange: Immerse yourself in the local Peruvian culture while learning more about the lives of orphans and the challenges they face.
Additional Benefits:
- Enhance your resume: Volunteering experience can be a valuable asset for future job applications, especially in fields like childcare or social work.
- Build new friendships: Connect with other volunteers who share your passion for helping others.
- Create lasting memories: Form meaningful bonds with the children and create positive memories that will stay with you for a lifetime.
By volunteering at an orphanage, you'll not only be helping children in need, but you'll also be enriching your own life in countless ways.
Volunteer Schedule
Volunteers are required to work from Monday to Friday, either in the morning form 8 am to 1 pm or afternoon from 2pm to 7pm.
Volunteer Period and Certification
The minimum volunteer commitment is one month, but you can extend your stay in weekly increments.
