AccentCare Hospice is looking for Certified Pet Therapy Volunteers to visit patients throughout Middle TN in Davidson, Williamson, Cheatham, Dickson, and Hickman Counties.
As a Hospice Pet Therapy Volunteer, you will collaborate with our full-service medical and psycho-social care team to help patients and their family members. You will have the opportunity to offer pet therapy visits to patients in their home, assisted living, or skilled nursing facility while adhering to current health and safety guidelines. Volunteer time is flexible to work with your schedule.
Volunteer activities with patients include: Listening to a patient's stories, facilitating connection between your certified therapy animal and the patient.
Volunteers DO NOT provide any hands-on care such as changing a patient, feeding a patient, bathing, giving medications, etc.)
No previous hospice experience is needed, AccentCare Hospice will provide training and support throughout your time as a volunteer.

Requirements:
- Criminal Background Check, Provided by AccentCare
- Tuberculosis skin test/health screen, provided by AccentCare
- Drug Screen, Provided by AccentCare
- Pet Therapy Certification
- Vet records indicating your animal is up to date on required shots and is in good health
