• Observing animals and knowing what their behaviors mean and signals they use
• Maintaining gates and fences, latches and equipment so that all is working and in good condition to keep animals inside and safe
• Utilizing caution and procedures to move animals.
• Providing food and water to animals according to care plans
• Cleaning the kennels and common areas
• Taking animals for walks and playing with them for enrichment or shifting them into different pens for enrichment
• Observing animals and noting any concerns with their behaviors or health
• Grooming and bathing the animals
• Administering medications or treatments to animals as directed by a Veterinarian
• Greeting customers, processing transactions and answering phone calls
• Documenting all care provided and any incidents that occur
