Recruiting Organization: Peace Economy Project

Overview

The Peace Economy Project (PEP), a nonprofit organization committed to advancing peace, economic justice, and reallocating resources from military to social spending, is seeking a passionate and proactive Fundraising Volunteer. This volunteer will play a crucial role in supporting our fundraising efforts to ensure we can continue and expand our advocacy work. If you are motivated to make a difference and have a knack for fundraising and community engagement, we want you on our team!

Responsibilities
  • Fundraising Strategy: Assist in developing and implementing creative fundraising strategies that align with PEP's mission and goals.
  • Donor Engagement: Help maintain and build relationships with existing and potential donors through regular communication, updates, and appreciation messages.
  • Event Planning: Support the planning and execution of fundraising events, including logistics coordination, promotion, and follow-up activities.
  • Grant Writing Support: Assist in identifying grant opportunities and support the grant writing process, including research, proposal writing, and submission.
  • Campaign Management: Participate in the creation and management of online fundraising campaigns, including content creation and social media promotion.
  • Data Management: Help maintain accurate and up-to-date donor records in our fundraising database, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with data protection regulations.
Qualifications
  • Enthusiasm for PEP's mission and a desire to support peace and economic justice initiatives.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with a variety of audiences.
  • Previous experience in fundraising, sales, marketing, or related fields is a plus, but not required.
  • Familiarity with social media platforms and digital fundraising tools.
  • Creative thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards of professionalism and confidentiality.
Time Commitment

This is a flexible, remote volunteer position requiring approximately 5-10 hours per week, depending on current projects and campaigns. Some weekend or evening availability may be needed for events or meetings.

Location

As this is a remote position, volunteers can be based anywhere with reliable internet access. Occasional in-person meetings or events may be held in the Saint Louis area, but attendance is not mandatory.

Benefits
  • Gain valuable experience in nonprofit fundraising and donor relations.
  • Contribute to meaningful work that makes a significant impact on promoting peace and economic justice.
  • Be part of a dedicated and passionate team working towards a common goal.
  • Opportunities for professional development and networking within the nonprofit and advocacy sectors.
How to Apply

Interested candidates are encouraged to submit a brief cover letter and resume detailing their interest in the role, any relevant experience, and their availability to peaceeconomyproject@gmail.com. Please include "Fundraising Volunteer" in the subject line of your email.

Join us at the Peace Economy Project as a Fundraising Volunteer and help us continue our vital work towards creating a more peaceful and just world. Your efforts will directly contribute to our ability to advocate for change and support communities impacted by economic injustice.
