Wanna be a Dungeon Master?
TKE is expanding their Dungeon and Dragons enrichment program for school age kids. We are seeking primarily Fredericksburg/Stafford/Spoty locals to support our in-person groups. Knowledge of D&D is required but experience as a DM is preferred.
TKE organizes everything from the campaign, location, groups of players, times/dates, and provide ALL supplies. We just need DMs!
Qualifications
- Previous experience in teaching or leading youth activities is highly preferred
- Selected individuals must have patience, be flexible and have an overall positive attitude
- Must feel comfortable working with individuals with disabilities
- Applicants must be at least 18 years of age, reliable transportation is mandatory and pass our background check.
- Sufficient knowledge in Dungeons & Dragons game
- Ability to lead youth through interactive games, journeys, and improv
- Ability to demonstrate skills and to communicate directions effectively
Responsibilities
- Commit to a 10 week campaign of 4 hour session, weekly or bi-weekly
- Host a group of 4-6 students between the ages of 11-17
- Hosting, running, and maintaining sessions for the tabletop role-playing game Dungeons & Dragons
- Create and be responsible for a welcoming environment for all persons who interact with our program
- Ability to act a role model with youth by enforcing rules, creating a positive environment, reinforcing positive behavior, and helping to develop positive social interaction
- Create an engaging, safe, and fun environment for players during your sessions
- Willing to be an animated and charismatic Dungeon Master by providing an engaging experience
- Be fully prepared for sessions beforehand and willing to adapt the session based on players' preferences
- Deals with issues, challenges, and problems as they arise and follows steps needed to resolve any issue related to the players' experience.
