Americares operates four free clinics in Fairfield County in Norwalk, Bridgeport, Danbury and Stamford. Our mission is to provide free quality health care to low-income, uninsured residents in a setting where all individuals are treated with dignity and respect. By partnering with local hospitals and Quest Diagnostics for donated laboratory and diagnostic testing, and by supplementing our team with volunteer staff, we are able to provide free primary to the working poor. Since 1994, we have provided more than $155 million in medical care to more than 28,000 patients.
- Nurses most have a current Connecticut license
- Volunteers are expected to work two 4-hour clinic sessions per month.
- Medical malpractice coverage is provided for all volunteers while on site.
- Bilingual Spanish/English a plus!

We partner with local hospitals and Quest Diagnostics for donated lab and diagnostic testing. We also work with a network of volunteer physicians, nurses, EMTs, and interpreters who donate their time. Since 1994, our clinics in Norwalk, Danbury, Bridgeport, and Stamford have provided health care valued at $155 million to more than 28,000 patients.
