Heartland Hospice is actively seeking volunteers in the Wilburton, McAlester, Eufaula, Talihina and Calvin areas to serve hospice patients. We need dedicated people like you to visit patients, help out in the office and maybe sit with someone for a couple of hours so their loved one can have a break or run an errand. Summer time is just around the corner and some patients may need their yard mowed. What other skill set can you bring to the table to help someone in their hour of need? Maybe you quilt, sew or craft. Maybe you're handy with "honey do" projects. We can find a place for you!
Volunteering for Heartland Hospice can be a wonderful, rewarding experience. We need men and women like you who want to help, but may not know where to start or how to get involved. We accept volunteers from ages 16 and up. The good news is, you don't provide hands-on care. You get to provide the extra support to help along the journey of life. Give us a call today!

Mission Statement
The mission of heartland Hospice is to provide quality hospice care to patients with a limited life expectancy, as well as support to their caregivers. The quality of life for those we serve is enhanced through palliative and specilized supportive care designed to meet the physical, psychosocial, and spiritual needs of the patients and caregivers. Hospice care is provided by an interdisciplinary team utilizing an approch to the care delived to patients either in their own home or extended care facility; working cooperatively with area health care providers and other community resources. Heartland strives to provide care to all who are eligible and need hopice care irrespective of ability to pay.

Volunteers are a part of the Hospice team. We depend on our volunteers to help us provide the extra love and care our clients and their famililes need at this time in their life
Volunteers offer support, companionship and practical, caring help to this special group of people. Volunteers may use their own special talents to share with the patients.
As a Heartland Hospice volunteer, your can donate as much or as little of your time as you desire, The duties of our volunteers are varied. This flexibility allows you to find an area of service that is uniquely sutied to you as well as provide you with the greatest personal satisfaction.

- To ensure the safety of our patients, and the integrity of our volunteers, we require fingerprinting, background checks, and drug screens. We also provide 13 hours of training, all at no cost to the volunteer.
