Art Works for Change is a nonprofit organization that creates contemporary art exhibitions and storytelling projects to address critical social and environmental issues. Citizens' Climate Lobby (CCL) is a nonprofit, nonpartisan, grassroots advocacy climate change organization focused on national policies to address the national and global climate crisis.
Art Works for Change and CCL are offering a Climate Leadership Training Program for California high school and college students. If you are a current student and are from California or attending school in California, we invite you to apply. Our program offers rolling admissions. Program participants will learn about climate policies, advocacy techniques, and the role of storytelling in promoting engagement. We will guide you through the process of becoming a citizen lobbyist and finding your place in the climate movement.
Your role would be to participate in this training program and to develop creative approaches to activating your local community. Plus, you will get to join a fun, passionate team, working for an important cause--and build your own skills and network in the process. Remote volunteers are happily accepted.
We get a lot done for a small organization! Learn more about us in this New York Times feature: https://www.nytimes.com/2017/03/13/arts/design/museums-inspire-social-activism-politics.html?_r=0

Please note that currently we are only accepting applications from prospective interns located in the United States.
