Individuals, groups, high school and college students are welcome to join the Morgan Duke Conservation Society, an amazing organization with a DEC Volunteer Stewardship Agreement to help protect the ecosystem and maintain Hudson River Special Management Area
Trail volunteers can assist with painting trail gates throughout the Hudson River Special Management Area on River Road Lake Luzerne, picking up litter left along the trails, beaches, and campsites, and reporting any trail conditions. Volunteers work independently or with others, focusing on specific trail sections or providing services while exploring trails.
Volunteers are needed every year and can create their own flexible schedules. The Morgan Duke Conservation Society provides supplies, volunteer neon shirts, workers compensation through the state of New York, and training through monthly Zoom meetings.
