Join the American Red Cross as a Disaster Preparedness Administrative Assistant and play a key role in supporting preparedness efforts in your community. This hybrid volunteer position provides an opportunity to contribute both remotely and in-person at designated times. We are looking for a self-starter who is comfortable working with computers, managing schedules, and making phone calls.
Location: Hybrid (Remote & In-Person - Santa Ana)
In-Person Days: Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday
Time Commitment: 5-8 hours per week
- Assist with scheduling and coordinating disaster preparedness presentations.
- Manage calendars, update records, and track volunteer participation.
- Communicate with volunteers, staff, and community partners via phone and email.
- Provide administrative support for disaster preparedness initiatives.
- Work independently while collaborating with internal teams and external partners.
- Comfortable using a computer and learning new software.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively over the phone and via email.
- Self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Experience with Microsoft Office or similar programs is a plus.
- Spanish or Vietnamese is a plus.
- Gain hands-on experience in disaster preparedness and community engagement.
