Area 6: Pleasant Run Cleanup at Villa/Churchman

Join us at Keep Indianapolis Beautiful to help protect and preserve an important natural resource of Indianapolis--Pleasant Run! We will be removing litter along the banks of the stream, where it often collects within vegetation. By picking up litter we will beautify our city while protecting our local ecosystems, including our soil, waterways, plants, and wildlife, from pollution. Litter prevention is one of the easiest things we can do to keep our city clean, but it takes all of us doing our part! We will be cleaning Pleasant Run from Villa Ave Bridge to Churchman Ave Bridge (0.5 miles) at this location.*It is an expectation for every volunteer at any KIB project to remain respectful of the spaces and neighborhoods we are in as reflected by both our language and actions.*

Safety: We highly recommend wearing weather-appropriate clothing, long sleeves and pants, and sturdy boots, as we will be working on a steep slope with dense vegetation. Due to the steep terrain, we do not recommend bringing young children to this project. This project is better suited for ages 18 and up. We always recommend bringing a reusable bottle for water but we will have disposable cups available if needed. KIB will provide all supplies, such as litter grabbers, gloves, and trash bags. Waders will be available for those who want to get in the water to help pick up litter.

Parking and Facilities: Street parking will be available along nearby residential streets. A portalette will be available for use.
