The Landscape and Gardening volunteer position is an important, and fun way to give back to your community. Landscaping and gardening is an important part of our organization, the garden and landscape, is after all, what people see first. An amazing garden can be the deciding factor in visitors' decision in coming to the museum or not. On top of that, landscaping is a constant cost to the organization that volunteers can help lower by simply getting their hands a little dirty. As a landscaping and gardening volunteer you will be tasked with maintaining the grounds at the Stevens-Crawford Heritage House, and the Museum of the Oregon Territory. The Stevens-Crawford Heritage House, is Clackamas County’s only Edwardian house museum, and offers a sweeping lawn wrapping around the front, back and sides of the home. Several large garden beds are filled with roses, and flowers of various kinds. The Museum of the Oregon Territory has several beautiful bushes, rhododendrons, and various other ground covers. As a landscape and gardening volunteer you will be tasked with helping to maintain either site. Personal equipment will be required.
Possible Tasks:
Mowing lawn at the Stevens-Crawford Heritage House.
Weed removal at the Stevens-Crawford Heritage House.
Pruning and trimming at the Stevens-Crawford Heritage House and Museum of the Oregon Territory.

Mission Statement
To enrich the lives of current and future generations through collecting, preserving and interpreting the history and culture of historic Clackamas County.
Description
The Clackamas County Historical Society was incorporated in 1952 as a non-profit organization. In 1968 the Stevens house was donated to the Society and was opened as the Stevens Crawford Heritage House Museum. As the collections grew, members soon realized that the preservation and interpretation of Clackamas County's history required a modern museum building and trained staff. In the 1970's the Latourette family donated property to Clackamas County to be used as a park. With the agreement of county officials and the Latourette family, this site at 2nd and Tumwater was chosen for the new museum. Through the efforts of individual donors and grants, the Museum of the Oregon Territory was constructed and opened to the public in September 1990. With the determination of the Board and the help of many volunteers the Society continues to meet its mission to collect, preserve and interpret the history, culture and technology of Clackamas County, Oregon
