Each year we honor mothers on Mother’s Day by giving carnations to local churches, to pass on to the mothers in their communities. This is NOT a fund raiser for Birthright. Last year we gave away 5000 carnations. To create the gifts, we cut the stems to a convenient length, pair them with greens, and create small arrangements in plastic sleeves. We ask the churches how many they would like to receive and prepare water-filled buckets with the numbers requested, for the individual churches to pick up. It takes a couple of days, on Friday and Saturday, to get and prepare the flowers and distribute them to the churches.

Description
Birthright of Albuquerque is a non-profit, 501(c)(3), pregnancy resource center that provides free, confidential support to women and their babies, regardless of age, race, religion, or marital status. Trained volunteers listen to the women, help them think through and make decisions that are best for them and their babies, guide them in accessing local medical and social services, and provide free pregnancy tests and essential items for them and their babies. Birthright volunteers are forbidden from engaging in any political activities or lobbying and from promoting any religion.
